Robot Holiday

Cyber Monday is just another day when it comes to the wonderful world of online shopping. This year I did a chunk of my gift buying via online merchants. I always wondered how my order was processed, the infrastructure involved must be a major undertaking, well-thought out and employing scores of workers to get it right.

Turns out, Amazon is a leader in the new world of robot-powered warehouses. The systems in place rely on these small units to retrieve the products ordered. This video shows how this happens.

Some may say these units are displacing humans. It doesn't seem that way. Judge for yourself.
