The Comedy Bit Jimmy Page DOESN’T Want You To See

The concept is simple: what if other people covered "stairway to heaven? "

SCTV explored that premise in the 80s.  The results? Hilarious! You expected nothing less From the Canadian demigods of Kanuck Komedy.

Apparently, Jimmy page didn't think so. Years after airing,  when it came time to put episodes of SE TV on DVD – and I own every single volume by the way – the lead guitarist, songwriter and ringleader of Led Zeppelin refused to allow the bit to appear. Even though it was a parody, he still has the right to say "yea" or "nay" to a home video release.

The reasons are not clear. Does Jimmy not have a sense of humor? We know Roger Waters doesn't: the former Pink Floyd  member refused to allow his music to be used in a DVD version of a WKRP episode which is ABOUT his music. Fuddy-duddy!

At least the WKRP episode did get released, albeit with major musical edits.  The SCTV bit on the other hand is rendered completely useless without Jimmy's permission. it was excised from the episode before the DVDs were released. A note on the box explains the omission.

Thankfully, we have YouTube, old VHS tape's, and people who will share. Dig:
